General Information

The Sopot School of Polish for Foreigners is a private, independent language school established in 1990. The School is open throughout the year. With between 30 and 50 students we are large enough to be a varied and dynamic community, but small enough for every student to be given indyvidual attention. We offer small classes, from beginner to advanced levels in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our aim is to provide high quality courses in Polish as a foreign language and to encourage interest in Polish language and culture.

Sopot is a well know seaside resort with a tradition dating back to the last century. In the summer the city reverberates with the sound of crowds of holidaymakers walking along the pier or soaking up the sun on the beach. Sopot has great places for leisure and recreation: cinemas, theatres, an opera house, tennis courts, an art gallery and a race track. Equally attractive is Sopot's geographical position. It is only 10 miles from Gdansk, the city which, as the birth-place of Solidarity, has carved itself a special place in the recent history of Poland. Numerous Gothic, Renaissance and baroque monuments, shipyards and port, theatres, museums and art galleries make the millenial Gdansk on of the most attractive Polish cities to visit. Surronded by picturesque countryside and situated close to Gdansk, Sopot is thus an exciting and memorable place for the adcenture of learning Polish.
